The former one in very perfect breeding pl. without a trace of rusty or ferruginous anywhem. Saw large flocks of Bas. shaces and Finces. Have seen no swallows for three days as the weather has been very cold. Waynerd has bred, 22 his Butus borealis from a man at Youngsbur who has so he writes 40 more alive. All are cought in Steel traps. They sitzy in rows on the perches of W airway and an very peaceable near quarrelling in the least, and frequently bitting on each others backs. In only time they make is a barely azidible whirring whistle. Two that I took from Mr. Saturday would eat nothing and as their plumage became badly spoiled by this confinement in a small box I let them go in our garden yesterday; both flew but a short distance and alighted in our cherry tree when he set for four time within good gunshot of me.
