"Upton, Maine" 80 1872 June 2-14 Genus Hypaithis. Nest with young a week old June 3. 95 Cyanospiza cyanea. Took a pair about a mile S of the lake. A pair seen June 73 16 Dolichornys disjunctus. Heard a bird male in the sand filled every day near the lake. Swed 2 but it is not certain 73 (Sternilla anasua is said not to extend much N of Portland; and although one would think the inland land up above the Androscoggin river especially suited to its habits we did not see it anywhere.) 19 Sciocephagus ferruginous. A female taken on Cambridge River June 4 showed every evidence of having commenced incubation 1870 20 Corvus parviorus. Was informed by Mr Stone that he saw them at long intervals in the Autumn & winter on the paper lakes 26 Perisoreus Canadensis. Said to be common this year round but did not see it. Mr H Bailey took two May 1870 only the hour: the Specimens was seen by Mr Oland. 27 Tetrao Canadensis. Said to be very common at all seasons that is confined almost entirely to the cedar swamps. Mr G Stone gave us some very interesting information in regard to the drumming of this species which he has often witnessed. The bird rises from the ground with strongly vibrating wings and goes straight up at an angle of 45 deg to come low Breezock when it
