Saw also a flock of about 45 black ducks but singularly enough there was not a one on the pond. Stridvant is a most beautiful little lake, erratic in shape & about 2 miles in length. The water is very rather deep & clear but not colder than in Umbagoz. Reached the house by dark. Sept. 16 Cloudy & very warm & sultry. We (all four) took a team and started for Agieschus falls, tying the horses at a distant house or walked 1/2 mile to the head of the falls and fished down getting in all about 20 small trout
