think at times more rapid
than any bird I am acquainte
with and their habit of sailing
I twisting about passing through
the woods makes them very
hard to hit. Took also
two S. Phil. (one adult & three
Pins villosus and an adult 2
Ostrav Can). The latter I
flashed from a clump of
raspberry bushes on the open
pasture. Pursual rods from the
woods which were had wood
growth; quite an unseer haunt

a magnificent burst and hurled
off for the woods in fine style.

the small shot had little effect
on her & I was obliged to follow
her into the woods when
I shot her through the head
as she sat on a log. Probably
educated & in a good shooting
country I think this species
would make a fine game
bird.
Aug 21 D.M char i hit, P.M. going.
Started up the hill after brook
Taking my forks gun. Shot
all the Forenoon for game &
