Petrofa Jon Elbiesli; Petros Caas. While pushing my way through the thorns I found a brood of young Petros Cas, which were about as large as quail. They sat on a tree with a many whistling to the tops of the low firs when they got gazing at me after and occasionally a low whistling note & the mother of the brood let also on a fir near by and kept called continually hreck hreck krek krek to her young. Approaching her slowly I actually got close enough to push her off the bough with the muzzle of my gun; when she flew rapidly with bird whirling to another small tree & allowed me to approach quite as once a gain, gone off a few yards she broke the call a rare lonely sound the young birds alerwing she took wing and alighted among them in flight.
