I spent a better little night getting an hour or two of sleep & wake this morning with the fever nearly abated. I dined around this afternoon but I was too weak to say more than a few words to [illegible] " 26 Clear and a very warm day. Sat up, and shrewd or two for the first time In P.M. Dave & John saw a number of broods of young D. tygrina, accompanied by the old males; also an addl S. sula [illegible] day a badly raised melting temperature. I was left this morning " 27 Cloudy & warm most of morning Spent the day about the barn with father coming down to my meals; feeling quite well. The birds, I presume are both very abundant and ready about the barn, had an evidently breeding. Ch. pains pigeons now, very much like C. tristis, in a wasting continued strain but not nearly so much. Farmer Mederson & Mrs frequently in the garden around the barn. " 28 Clear, still & a lovely day. Father left this afternoon having me alone and I spent a most dull evening, feeling exceedingly homesick, but as soon as I can get out again, the kids again shall call father.
