Walked E. along road to Aua, where I called on Vasai, native who furnished names for plants April 12th. His house is of a semi-modern construction with wooden floor raised about 5 feet above ground. The walls are movable, made of plated coconut leaves and the roof is of sugar cane leaf thatch, laid on a framework of split bamboo supported by tou (kou-cordia) uprights. Floor covered by mats.
