May 15/1933 It rained during the night a thing I hadn't done before. I went out and waited the traps, and got seven mammals in the ten traps. The Petamur was in a run by a tree under its overhanging moss covered dark over a steeple. The rest rats were far further up the hill. I climbed immediately after visiting the traps and photographed its Petamurs and stated shining. I got six finished. May 20/1935 I caught a Melanpelta in my lowest trap and only one rat. The traps are up a very steep, filled with quite a lot of under brush. The ground is bare leaf covered with the roots etc moss covered. I continued on over the hill. Just short of 2200 meters I noticed found a large Brown bird once ground probably not in use as there was no more platform and a little above it I found one that of partly set in the process of being made. There was across platform that showed no sign of a track. The pile of sticks was only about 16 cm high off the trail. The altitude of the trap was 2309 meters. A little way down the other side I stopped to take a pot downwardly the road looked through on opening. May 21/1935 I developed the film faster by Mr. Middleton on Mt. Albert-Edward I made, rather a mess of it but they were pretty good just as same. And could all night so that I did little or nothing all day except show the one part that I caught in my traps.
