April 22, 1933 Admonson arrived from Beato about noon or a little before and we went ashore to see the A.K.M. in return of the deforest for native labour that he had deposited with him. We then went down to Joe Bray's and returned for Kai Kai about 2 o'clock and the afternoon was spent on discussing plans for this trip inland. Brass is already two days here and if we get one or two more for us both there & I will go straight to O'roge otherwise I and start a lay at Wiana where Brass is staying. April 23, 1933 Spent the morning and most of the afternoon waiting for the Vanmauri. We went about eleven in Admonsons launch to Devotoi wher we bought from Tom Baker a couple of hurricane lamps and some Kaihai fort's toys and a few odds and ends that we needed. On the way Aroi and gave fine instructions to Joe Bray about our careers. I made an awful ass of myself at tennis in the afternoon playing terribly. The Vanmauri arrived about sundown minus also affected, the horse. I took a bottle of beer to Admonson on a 2 to 1 bet. We went on a bit of a shrew cursing Smith and co. So we did not turn an until about 2 o'clock. April 24, 1933 We awoke not all with a terrible head. I think I would have been all right if I hadn't gone to run from whisky on the last somewhat there is no use crying over spilt milk.
