which was a disappointment Mr Adomson find an old partner and we took him ashore will has to suffer about ten Mr Brass & Myself retired as it partly seemed on the point of failure ending but fortunately it came on to rain so they decided to stay off all night did not join them as I did not know what would up. April 1, 1931 We got away about [illegible] eight and after two hours of chugging got to the mouth of the river where we got stuck momentarily & thus delay could be to miss the tide. We went on up the river which was entirely bordered by mangrove swamps untill we come to a native village about one & 1/2; it was apparent that we could not catch the tide we transferred our loads to [illegible] and leaving the cano we went on under a local craft. We arrived out of the mangroves and into the palmville next up the Bisto Creek which was smaller & faster than the city Ethel to the village of Bioto where we unloaded and had tea and also after some juggling we got a motor and Brass & Press went on to Adomsons craft "Baraka" Mr Adomson & I went back to the canos and started towing which was about six by the tide had turned we went along much faster. This time we did not turn off up the Bioto creek but kept at it to the Ethel To Cr [illegible] which is the mission station where we arrived tied up to its dock after a very light supper of bread, molasses & tea we landed in into saw mill, April 2, 1933 We slept rather late and by the time we got up, the Craft had the cargo loaded. As some thing had gone wrong with the motor and also we wanted to get permission to store our rice on they were since we went up to the mission where we were treated to a cup of tea by the Filipino half caste that was building the blue costic old building had been burnt. We then set out to walk to Baraka as the Half Cast told us that Mr Adomsons fuel bay [illegible]
