all boulders. November 15, 1933 Picked up all traps and then waited till about eight for the Kunis to come down which they did about right. We then had to wait fifteen or twenty minutes while I waded out down a big tree into the river, a thing he would have refused to do if either of his had told him to do it. We had a lot of trouble getting in the river in house. I found one rat in one of the traps and the Kunis hunters shot a porcupine also a Dawa Dura marmot brought in a Dactylos. November 14, 1933 I went with Rand to shoot quail on the flat below the mission. Unfortunately we became separated and did not get as many as expected. I saw three of the large species but missed badly while Rand shot two of the small ones. Nothing on the traps. The day was fairly good only a bit overcast in the early afternoon, spent cataloging film & developing also made a stoned pudding. November 17, 1933 I went only a short distance down the road past the tree line to the grass ridge but returned to develop a film which turned out so-so. The back of the film seems good, I tore easily. The Kunis came in about one having come from Mescal. November 18, 1933 I did not go out but sent Christmas to pick up traps which held 2 coral hair rats. The morning was spent in starting to pack after lunch a marmot found in a Dactylosaid the then occupying the afternoon. November 17, 1933 I finished packing during the morning. Kiles' police, carriers together with 11 mules, arrived about about one o'clock occupying a great deal of space causing lot of crowding as it made more than 60 in camp occupying the same place as our 30 had been complaining about the crowding. Kiles arrived a little before 4:00 having stopped at the mission. We had a shower of rain during the afternoon.
