September 11, 1933
This morning early was clear though about 8:00 it started clouding again about 4:00 or a little later and coming on to rain
about one o'clock and stopping about 4:00. I walked the trail along the ridge this continued on to shed a couple of small tops in the trail notes yesterday after which I went down to the lower bird dance ground and cut one tree and started on another when the axe handle broke off at the work short. Returning along the road I noticed three bear tracks and found Brother Jeandron in camp we had him stay to lunch after lunch I skinned two rats that Christina brought in one of which appears to be a different species though it is very young as the bones were very soft it is No 1515 Olive Grey Rat of the teeth were not yet descended. We had Brother Jeandron for supper and after a couple of O.P.'s he became very talkative.

We were caught in the trails below Camp 6 this morning as usual was fine and it remained so until about four when we had a short shower followed by mist and clouds. After supper I went a short way hunting but the mist was too thick to see anything.

We awoke to the pleasant sound of rain but about seven it stopped for the rest of the morning though it stayed cloudy until two when it came on to pour which did not last for the rest of the day. I got the names for the war clubs like those I found at Urean which is 'Grevi'. Martine shot a Spotted Margays Cat below camp dragging mention of side whose stomach contents was only a few feathers. Father Garreau came in with Brother Jeandron and we had them to supper. Father Garreau came up to help Father John to new Father who is coming with the mails carries who as perusing the roof for the Waitalo Church.
