August 17 1933 We got away about 7:50 from Numa and traveled right along till we got to the river where we waited for perhaps a half hour while the Kwanus & most of the Kanuas caught up. We then started the climb to orange some what slowor then before finally when the Kwanus stopped to rest we left them and went ahead that is Adamson & myself and arrived about 11:00. Rand & Brass were behind collecting on the road and got in about one. The afternoon was spent in o- phaning August 18 1933 Adamson & I left with Omama, a male & five of the mission horses as well as my 12e of the Knuas. We proceeded so as we did not get away til 8:30 on account of having to wait for breakfast. We soon caught up with the horse. Then all went well till we got to the new garden during the side of Nirode where we were delayed on account of having to cut thru fallen trees from across the road. Then we had to select one of the horses two or three time so we did not get in until two. After lunch we went to the saddle & picked a camp sight & did a fly off for the Knuas. We found Brother Jeandron at Stofo on his way to Orange. August 19, 1933 The day was spent in making camp & in moving our baggag to the camp sight. About 4:00 we had a heavy hail storm with the hail about thrice of peas. The Knuas were quite excited & asked numerous questions more than I could understand. Yesterday one of Brother Jeandron's male boys shot a Dorkofee, which I bought from him. The meal I had to returned to Orange in charge of his boy. August 20 1933 Adamson left for Onongs to get the rest of the supplies and I spent the day around camp arranging supplies & what not. Aug 21, 1933 In the morning I developed a film and Jeandron & all arrived just as I was finishing processing. Having made excellent time 4 1/2 hours. We had Brother Jeandron for lunch & supper. He certainly enjoys a drink and gets rather talkative especially on the subject of the mission. With which he has been for nine years.
