March 13, 1933 I had pretty fine luck with my traps. Got 5 rats, one each of sets 4, 7 & 8 and two at the side of the woods to Orange. The old man in the scrubby trees that borders the forest one was the Coarse Brown Hareh. Furred rat. The other was very similar to the Black Brown Rat but as he seemed dwarf I called him Black wochrat. I continued up the hill to Catop and shot on top two species of Lark sprikes that were new to my collection. On top, fog rootings were very abundant. March 14, 1933 I picked up my traps in the wood and shaved and got B.N. J's truck for Bill Morely at ten. One of the traps were bitten Spring but nothing in it. On the way down I saw a bedeler and several other rats I smell that seemed different from those of Mono. I also saw above the large mast, a dark hawk, possibly a Marsh Hawk. I saw Mrs Clay and then went to B.N. and Orange to lunch with them. I went to the county office and found that Roosevelt had declared a general Bank holiday. March 15, 1933 I went to the Bank at 1:00 and got the money for the shoot of Burma Phelps (B.P.) $500. with $1400.- ($1400.00 - $507/140) in the afternoon I walked out to Kamatada and looked on a few pictures, one of an golgoasum, one of some Berner's like birds in a tall end one of some native women curing.
