July 28 1935 Although there were a few clouds this morning till about 11:30 when it's mist came up, I made a quick round of my traps catching only two, one of which young sand was caught in the fake nature this time trap. I returned to camp and got Acto (Brasilia Boy) and started off the trail to Ruame with the intention of going up its Kadiche trail but could soon not find the junction. The trail after crossing the Rio and leaving the right hand of the Jauru trail junction and crossing in a steep def, a long branch of the Rio one continues up a spur beside a bit of forest on the left the trail then crosses rocky country but always upwards till it gains its pass which is flanked with a high hill on each side this I could see from its ridge top where I left the trail to go to a point of woods on its right. I collected a number of plants for Brasilia after which I returned and visited the forest on the opposite side of the trail before returning to camp where I arrived just as the rain started at 12:45. On my way up I shot a finch from a bunch of about a dozen that were scattered through the tree ferns or just after crossing the tributary I took a picture of it looking down where another stream joins and after climbing a little more to a point where I got a good panorama I took it in six parts.
