One trap foot, #3 or #4, had an adult Tringa canicollaris Tringa at (identified by mader) The meat was still alive - Steve said it was a T because of the wings. 2's have reduced 20 wings. I forgot to mention the location of the emergence traps at line #4 on Beach Ridge. Trap #1 is on a flat, wet area , #2 on a dry flat area and #3 on a polygon top. (For a full description of vegetation, etc., see dipther study.) After setting out the traps, we started back to NRL and also to check the pit fall traps on the entrance to Central Marsh. We stopped near three sectoral Sandpipers and Steve asked me to shoot them so I did - all three with one shot but one got up after a while and flew off before we could get to it. Steve had walked past it to pick up another bird. So, I only got two, I guess. We checked the pit fall traps, and we had a L. gracilirostris adult in it - according to Mader. We kept it for examination later. We returned to camp at 1715. 2100 I checked the nests. The weather is fairly warm and has been all day. The wind is not very strong from the East. I got all but nest #6 tonight.
