Beaver 1967 Alaska Journal 32 29 June (cont.) very well. The traps were covered so that one complete side could be opened to pick up insects inside the traps. The traps are 1yd. square so I'll have to do some converting in order to put my data on the basis of a meter square but this will be no problem. After completing the traps, we went to supper. 3130 The nest check started out to be in pretty poor weather. It was raining and very cloudy at first but as the rain quit, the clouds dissipated or moved on and then it was very sunny. I checked all nests but #1 and #5 which I couldn't get because the birds flew from the nest long before I could get close enough to follow them. 30 June 0845 I went out to check the nests. It is clear and fairly warm. It took a while to get all the birds this time but I kept at it until I had the last bird at 1020. This was the find on nest #3. I returned to lab and made plans for this afternoon and setting out the emergence traps. 1300 Steve went to get two max-min. thermometers to make temperature checks inside and outside
