Beaver 1967 Alaska Journal 22 24 June (cont) 1630 (cont) looked for some small pit fall traps. We found 19 and put them in the ground right side up. They are small fruit juice cans with about a 2" or 2 1/4" diameter opening. We then returned to camp to eat. (1930) 1930 Steve, Dr. Lintelho and I took the flow net traps to catch and band Baird's Sandpipers. We tried several nests, and managed to catch 3 birds. These were banded and color banded and then released. The wind was very cold and we all got chilled. We came in at 2200 for the day. Steve made up a list for each Baird, and we are to note time and when we see them whenever we go into the drum area. Forgot to mention, as we come from the second nest banded to the third - which I discovered - (Bairds nest #8 on the map) - we came on a golden flower nest. The eggs were large in relation to the size of the birds. I'm going to try to get a good picture of this find or or near the nest. 25 June 0830 Late breakfast and then went with T. Cueter to trap lines 3 A and B - which had nothing in them and then to lines 9 and 10 by the ARCS installation. I found one D snow bunting in a trap at station 8:4 and that was all
