Beaver 1967 Alaska Journal 21 24 June (cont.) 1500 (cont) we drove on a few hundred yards to the east and then I took the following feeding observation: 24 Jun/ Cent. Marsh / m / 007 / 1500/f/su/ 3A/ 3b/ 2/ feeding (?). We continued onto Central Marsh trap lines # 5 and 6 on Beach Ridge. On the way, Steve attempted to collect a Golden Flower, but the bird flew off after sustaining a direct hit! We looked for the bird to the east but had no luck. All this PM, the wind has been cold and occasional large flakes of snow are falling. We stopped at another flock of about 8 Golden Flowers and again Steve attempted to collect a bird - which took the full pattern and then flew off! He tried again and the same resulted. Finally, with the 4 shot, a ? (probably had good food palette) was collected. We then proceeded on to the Skyline Keys running on lines 5 and 6. Two keys were out on the flat swamp and wet in water, so we moved them a short distance to a dry place.
