Beaver 1967 Species account C. pusillus 2 15 June (cont.) 0915(cont.) of the two birds indicate both were males and that a territory wasn't disputed. 0940 The C. pusillus nest located by Karl T. Carbin has 3 eggs which are pointed w/ blunt end outside. The coloration at the blunt end is a darker brown than the pointed end. The birds were quite nervous during this operation of forest. He f(?) stood near by calling and flying about. 20 June seen to be senipalmated sandpiper only in the Barrel area. Here there are a number of them. The gyan tundra is surprisingly empty of C. pusillus! 13 July The senipals have hatched (most nests, I think). Took photos of the young of a nest group near AHESS. 15 July Still activity in the Barrel area. Should be coming to a close soon though since young of most nests are hatched & moving off. 17 July Where I came across a small flock of senipals, Baird, and white rumpel sandpipers feeding in a pond near the reapers. The birds appeared to be faking aquatic larvae of some kind.
