At the last rapids we hit bottom and stripped the gears in the motor. 1730 Steve and I went for a long walk north east of the camp and came upon 3 caribou. Steve wanted one so we returned to camp for the rifle and the truck. We returned to the area and saw the caribou. Steve attempted 6 or 7 times to collect me but the rifle shoots high plus the fact that it was nearly dark so he failed. I shot twice and was only able to knock off an antler.
