Beaver 1967 Alaska Journal 57 23 July (cont.) When we arrived back in the lab, we put the soil samples in the fume hoods and discarded the old ones. Dr. Litelka leaves tomorrow so I told both he and Steve of my plans to leave 11th August. 24 July Dr. Litelka left this a.m. We prepared to set out the rest run of vantage foots and areas in the field by 10:45 a.m. We charged the vantage foots, checked the cantripes and snapper traps at both sites I and II. Also ran some transects along central marsh beach ridge area. In the afternoon, we had trouble with the vessel - we took vacuum samples again. The weather today is fairly clear but windy. Both Steve and I are coming down with colds. I turnedin carly. 25 July Feel pretty bad today. Steve and I left to do some transects by Wollschley slough. The weather is clear and warm with a slight breeze in the am, stronger in the afternoon. We completed 2 transects each and then returned. We had to detour the slough because the side came in.
