Beaver 1967 Alaska Journal 48 15 July (cont.) All further feeding observations will be in section of field books under "feeding observations". We returned to the lab at 2130. 16 July Got up at 0730 and came to the lab. The fog is right down on the ground and the temp is about 35-40° F. A fine misty rain is falling. Steve M. came in and wanted to catch birds - plovers particularly so I made some loop traps while he and Tom went out to try and catch some. They returned an hour later with no birds. Steve ends then went out and took down the mist net in the funnel area and headed out to FAA to try and catch a bird that Steve knows of out there. 1530 We arrived at the [illegible] to discover the bird on the nest and incubating three eggs. We set the loop traps around the nest and then set the mist net on the opposite side. We walked from hereest (E??) to see if the bird would come in. She did - 3 Kne and we never caught in the loops. Next we tried to use the mist ret. The bird came to the eggs and settled, by my stick slipped out of the net when I tried to throw it he over the bird. The ret wasn't placed correctly either, so we placed it like so. Both corners taked down. of net. stick
