Skies are still partly cloudy. I left for Berkeley around 1030th driving Karen behind to take care of drift fence trapping. (See K. Klein Journal for details) April 13 Arrived Coach at Hastings today around 1400h - I don't even remember being so glad to be here (Berkeley was a bitch!). Skies are cloudy today - it rained slightly this am according to Griffith. Karen left for Berkeley this am, so climb alone with Lessie. Mark Stromberg, new director, arrived today and I ran into him upon arrival. He doesn't officially start work until next week. The green in the hills is beginning to fade, but more wildflowers are out - particularly the lupine. I re-set traps on EC drift fences starting at 1700h. Karen added 10 folding Siemens to the fence east of the grid. I didn't set all of them, but now there are 20 traps set along this fence. I also set ~16 stations on the grid along the creek to monitor reproduction of females.
