Started checking traps on RC by 2240hrs. Results (P.californicus only): st# 4,13 11410 P.californicus ♀. Collar in good shape. 5,14 1142 " ♀. Mature, primus. 985g. Post-lactating. Dusty with light brown. Headed home by 2330h - Marco had a good night of telemetry (see data sheet). We also checked traps on the RC west drift fence before heading home. March 21 0620h - out checking traps on MC. It's clear and calm this am. Begin checking RC around 0800h. Results on RC grid traps (P.californicus only) st# 5,13 1192 P.californicus RBCAP Finished checking traps by 0940 and returned to the lab to load 2 new animals. Skies are now mostly cloudy - cumulus-like clouds moved in from the west this am. The moving clouds quickly blew over leaving clear, sunny skies. The temperature was a bit cooler than previous days (upper 60's). We reset MC traps from 1620 to 1700h and RC traps from 1710 to 1730h. If bright, Marco is going to collect telemetry data from 2000 to 2300h and I will do the same from 0330h to sunrise. Because I'm going out so early (late?), I'm not going to check traps tonight on grid MC. The animals should be fine given the benevolent weather. The moon is ~1/4 full and sets around 2030h.
