I set WZ traps from 1545 to 1630 hrs., and RC and MC drift fence traps from 1640 to 1730h. I also set traps on MC at 10,5; 90,4; 11,5; 11,6; and 10,6 in order to catch 1476. 2200h- out checking traps on grid MC. It's clear, calm, moon is overhead (< full) and bright! Results (P.californicus only): st W 9,5 1199 P.californicus 8' lin., TW0.17g. Orange visible on skin behind ear; dissected. Returned to lab for tissues. 14,6 1471 " 8' M, scrotal. 37.5g Caught in same trap! (see appendix) 14,6 1128 " 8' M, TW0. 32g. -tail wound Furried by 2230h and returned home with #1199 (Bleed tomorrow am). March 5 0635h- out checking traps on MC with Connie Adams. It's clear, calm, low 50s. Results on MC grid LP californicus only): st No P.californicus caught on grid MC this AM. Began checking grid WZ by 0800. Clipped tails for DNA extractions from 4 individuals, plus had a mortality on the grid (see appendix). Finished checking traps by 1025h and returned to lab to process tails, and bleed # 1199. Summary of results on WZ: P.californicus : 10 captures (1mortality) P.tuei : 13 " (2new) P.boylei : 5 " Perognathus : 2 " N.fuscipes : 3 " TOTAL : 33 captures (2new) Returned #1199 in good shape to its capture side around noon. Spent the afternoon on laundry, etc . . . . . This afternoon was mostly clear and warm (mid 60s). I set traps on WZ from 1545 to 1630hrs., and RC & MC drift fences (including MC grid traps) from 1645 to 1730 hrs.
