RIBBLE, D.O. 1988 Journal 28 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. March 2 (cont). I reset traps on WR from 1530 to 1700 hrs. While resetting traps I cut trails through the poison oak on the bottom half of the grid (tomorrow will finish the upper half). Reset RC & MC drift fence traps from 1700 to 1800 hrs. The moon (full) rose tonight around 1900 hrs - very bright tonight. March 3 0640h - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, upper 40's. Started checking traps on WR by 0800h. Finished checking traps by 0930h and returned to cabin. Summary of results on WR: P. californicus: 10 captures P. truei : 10 captures (1 new) P. boylii : 6 " Perognathus : 1 " N. fuscipes : 3 " TOTAL : 30 captures (1 new) Spent most of today working on electrophoresis data... Reset WR traps from 1530 to 1700 hrs. Finished cutting trails through poison oak on the upper half of the grid in the process. Reset RC & MC drift fence traps from 1700 to 1600 hrs. Today was mostly clear and warm (low 60's). High thin clouds moved in late in the afternoon. The moon is full tonight, rising about 1945h. March 4 0635 h - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, upper 40's, heavy dew. Started checking traps on WR by 0800h. Finished by 0930h and returned to lab. Summary of results on WR: P. californicus: 8 captures P. truei : 7 captures P. boylii : 4 " (2 new) Sorex : 1 mortality Perognathus : 1 capture N. fuscipes : 5 " (1 new) TOTAL : 21e captures (3 new) Returned to lab and spent the rest of the AM stuffing Sorex from freezer.
