Reset MC drift fence traps from 1645 to 1510 hrs. 2100h - out to check traps west of grid RC. It's clear, calm, low 50's. Thompson has not risen yet. Summary of results (P. californicus only): St. # wt Set Age Bridg. No captures of P.californicus. Headed home by 2220 hrs Feb 10 0700hrs - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, upper 40's. Results on transect west of RC (P. californicus only). St. # Sex Age Bridg. 3.5.5 1914 REC AP. Of M. scrotal. VBD paw/la visible ears (next side) 4.5.7 1182 ESCAP. I picked up or cleaned out all traps this am and left all drift fence passageways open. I finished checking all traps by 0940 hrs and returned to lab to collect tissues from #1185 and prepare for sex mortality. Left for Berkeley around 1030 hrs, releasing #1185 in good shape at its capture site on my way out. Feb 11e Arrived backed at Hastings around 1330hrs today - it's clear, breezy, and warm (low 70's). Spring green-up is continuing with Buckeyes leafing out and snowberry leafing out. Madrone Canyon is looking very lush. Perhaps P. californicus will be captured lower on the grid toward the creek bottom. Set traps on Grid MC and drift fences from 1500 to 1645 hrs. Reset RC drift fence traps from 1700 to 1720 hrs. 2100hrs - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, no moon (new moon is tomorrow), low 50's. I finished checking traps by 2150hrs and returned to lab to collect tissues from #1186. I will release her in the AM while checking traps
