Around 1530 hrs Marco radio-located # 1123 (see app Arot) and we put the traps from the transect west of RC near the nest. Reset drift fence traps from RC and grid RC from 1545 to 1615 hrs. Reset MC drift fence traps and grid traps on MC from 1630 to 1700 hrs. Hopefully with the Oregon gone we will have better luck on MC. 2030hrs - out on RC to do radio tracking and check traps. On the east side of the nest site caught # 1914 (m 1941?), B, mature, scrotal, 41g. There was no sign of any powder. On the west side of the nest site caught # 1976 B covered with GREEN Powder! Marco radio-located this male, Ch # 3. Since the male was caught, we collected all traps from the west of RC - I checked the drift fence west of RC while Marco tried to locate the F, no luck. 2200 hrs went to MC to clock the grid traps. 5, 8,17, #1123 P. californicus B? Mat. Scrotal 9, 8 #1158 " " Recsp. 4 trap stations had been rolled on this grid - perhaps another Oregon? From 2230 to 2315 hrs we checked traps on Grid RC. Similar results to last night. Marco still couldn't find # 1123. Hopefully she will appear tomorrow. Headed home 2330 hrs. Feb 4 0800hrs - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, and cold. We got up a little late this AM. No new P. californicus on grid MC this AM. On the drift fence west of RC we caught # 1123 and her radio appeared fine. Finished checking all traps by 0930 hrs and returned to lab to breed new P. californicus and stuff modalities.
