Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif.
Jan 25 (cont). Reset BC drift fence traps from 16:20 to 16:45 hrs, and
MC drift fence & 2 rows on Hogged from 16:50 to 17:20 hrs.
Today was another gorgeous day - clear, calm, low 70's.
2200hrs - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, low 50's. The
moon is 1/2 full and about 1:30 in the west sky - quite bright.
Results on MC:

9,13 1156 P.californicus RECAP. Fresh RED powder on limbs, mouth, ears.
9,10 1943 " " RECAP. Lethargic - Reduced lot RED Powder
Finished by 22:30 hrs. Not much activity tonight.
Jan 26.
DARKNS - calm, few low clouds, upper 40's. Out checking drift
fence traps. Results on MC traps:

Lethargic
9,10 1971 " " " - Exposed to same hole used by #1943 above.
Started Checking grid W2 by 08:30 hrs. Fewer traps were turned
over this morning - perhaps the extra Notoma traps helped.
Finished by 10:00 hrs and returned to lab with #1175 to
collect tissues. Summary of results on grid W2:
P.californicus . 12 captures (1new)
P.bonflii : 1 "
P.tuei : 13 " (1new)
N.fuscipes : 3 " (2new)
S.howbudgei : 1 "
Perognathus : 2 "
TOTAL : 32 captures.
Great results this am, only failed to catch 3 marked
P.californicus on the grid.
