Finished resetting RC drift fence traps by 1700 hrs, and MC drift fence traps by 1720 hrs. 2230hrs - out checking traps on west RC drift fence. It's clear, calm, temp is mid 40s. Caught 2 P. californicus. Finished by 2250hrs. Jan 24 0700hrs - out checking traps on drift fences. It's clear, calm, and warmer than yesterday (upon 40s). Started checking grid W2 by 0815hrs, finishing by 1000 hrs. Returned to lab with new P. californicus (#1170) to collect tissues. Summary of Results on W2: P. californicus : 7 captures (1 new) P. boylii : 3 captures (1 new) P. huei : 11 captures (5 new) N. fuscipes : 7 captures (2 new) Perognathus : 1 capture TOTAL : 29 captures (9 new). Spent the afternoon working on electrophoresis data. Reset traps on W2 from 1500 to 1600 hrs. Released #1170 in good shape. Reset RC drift fence traps from 1140 to 1640 hrs. I added 10 more folding shermans to the west drift fence between stations W-6 and W-11. I put one trap between existing traps, alternating between "in" & "out" sides. Lastly I reset MC drift fence traps and set the top 2 rows of traps, western 10 stations, to collect data on female reproduction. Today was another gorgeous day - clear, calm, low 70s. 2150hrs - out checking traps set on grid MC. It's clear, calm, moon is < 1/2 full, setting in the west. For sake of time, did only gone to record captures of P. californicus.
