DUBBLEDA 1989 Journal 120 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Dec 17 0700h - out checking traps on MC. It's overcast, low 40s. Looks like it could rain any time. Finished by 0800h. Summary of results on MC: P.californicus P. huei Perognathus P. boylii TOTAL 16(PM) 0 2 1 0 3 (FAM) 2 5 3 3 13 #ind 2 5 3 3 13 Disual: Spent the rest of the morning cleaning out the capture mice enclosures and collecting tissues from the capture mice. It stayed overcast and cold all day. Reset MC grid traps from 1530-1630h and checked the max/min thermometers before sunset. Since so few animals have been captured early, did not going out tonight and will go out early tomorrow Dec 18 0600h - out checking traps on MC. It's cloudy, low 40s, and dark. Picked up or opened up all traps as I checked. Finally caught some P.californicus this trapping session. Finished picking up and checking all traps by 0800h. Skies cleared upon sunrise - beautiful morning Summary of results on MC: P.californicus : 7 captures P. huei : 5 " Perognathus : 2 " N. fuscipes : 1 " P. boylii : 5 " TOTAL : 20 captures. Packed up and pulled out for Berkeley by 0930h.
