RISBUE, DO. 1988 Journal 12/4 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Dec 11 (cool) Cristian and Daniel left after lunch. I reset all RC traps from 1430 to 153045h, checked on the the lab animals, and reset MC drift fence traps around 1630h. 2105h-out checking traps on TC. It's clear, no moon, low 40s. Finished by 2230h. Dec 12 0700h - out checking traps on MC. It's clear calm, mid 40s (unusually warmer). Started checking traps on TC by 0730h. Great results- caught all but 2 P. californicus. Finished by 1000h. Summary of results on TC- P. californicus [illegible] 12(Am) # and 7 12 13 P. boylii 17 20 (new) 27 N. fuscipes 7 4 9 Microtus 3 4 5 Pleogmatius 2 2 2 TOTAL 36 42(new) 56 After lunch I returned to grid RC and counted number of Laurel (Baytree) nuts and burpages (see found next page). Reset RC traps from 15-1100h, and MC drift fence traps around 1700h. 2100h - out checking traps on RC. It's clear, calm, no moon, low 40s. Not many P. californicus this PM. Finished by 2215h. Dec 13 0700h - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, low 40s. Started checking traps on RC by 0730h and finished around 0930h.
