RIBBO, D.O. 1988 Journal 112 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co. Calif. Nov 20 0645h- out checking traps on MC. It's clean, calm, cold (mid 30's). Light frost on the grass. Caught a Urocyon in the trap set at station 11,18. Finished checking MC traps by 0745hrs, returned the Urocyon to the cabin, and proceeded to check traps on RC. Picked up or opened up all grid traps as d checked traps. Finished by 1015h and returned to the cabin. Summary of results on MC- P. californicus : 1 capture P. boylii : 7 4 P. tenuis : 4 4 Perognathus : 2 " TOTAL : 14 captures Summary of results on RC- P. californicus : 13 captures P. boylii : 18 " (new) N. fuscaes : 11 " P. maniculatus : 1 " Microtus : 7 " Perognathus : 3 " TOTAL 53 captures I released the Urocyon on the Cachama Rd before noon (+- 2 mi from Hastings by road). Today was another clean and warm day (mid 70's). Reset RC drift fence traps from 1500-1530h and all MC traps from 1530 to 1615h. Since there are so few animals on MC and none feeding, I didn't check traps on MC during the night. Nov 21 0645h- out checking traps on MC. It's clean, calm, mid -30's. Finished by 0800 and proceeded to check RC drift fences. Spent the rest of the am splitting firewood and restocking my fire wood pile. Summary of MC results: P. californicus-2 captures Perognathus-1 P.boylii -6 " P.tenuis -4 " TOTAL -13 captures
