RIBBLE, D.O 1988 JOURNAL 105 Hastings Reservation, Montevito Co., Calif. Oct 13 (cont) The morning fog developed into overcast skies today. Highs-low 70's. Skies are finally cleared around 1500h. I reset W2 grid traps from 16-1700h. I released the new animals in good condition while resetting traps. I also added 2 more National traps. Reset RC traps from 17-1745h and MC drift fence traps around 1800h. 2100h- out checking traps on RC. It's dark (no moon), clear, low 60's. Finished by 2215h. Oct 14. 0604h- out checking traps on MC. It's overcast and cool (low 50's) Started checking traps on RC by 0730hrs. The sun quickly burned off the cloud cover this am. Started checking traps on W2 by 0930hrs. A National trap with a wood rat (#14a) was found at station 15,13. It had originally been set at 14,13 but probably a Urocyon dragged it away because a fresh Urocyon scat was found at 14,13 (contained only plant material). Finished checking traps by 1045h and returned to the truck to collect tissues from #1435. Released her back at her capture site before returning to the lab to spin blood down.
