BIBBLE, D.O. 1988 Journal 4 Hasting Natural History Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Jan 13 (cont). Summary of trap results: P. Californicus : 3 4 5 P. boylii : 3 7 (new) 8 P. truei : 6(3 new) 7 10 Total : 12 18 23 I spent most of the afternoon analyzing capture data. From 1530 to 1600hrs I reset RC drift fence traps plus a transect east of RC. Trap sites are the same as before (5 stations between quad's east drift fence, 2 traps per station). Reset MC traps from 1615 to 1700hrs. Today was sunny & warm, although some clouds appeared in the west as the sun set. 2045hrs - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, and warmer than previous nights. Tonight I'm going to check the entire quad. Finished by 2200hrs and moved onto the transect east of RC. On grid MC, ~50% of the traps along the creek bottom had been turned over. No tracks found, but one trap had been unvisited on (no smell touring), and I did get a couple of skunk scents - Who knows? I should set out Hawk hats tomorrow. Results on transect east of RC Trap st. No. Spp. wt. Sex Age Bred. 1 0120 P.boylii 2#2 F SD MDClaw 2 1974 P.Californicus 44 F M imp, parous.
