4 August, 1988 Dave Dribble - Here's the data, the notes and a Rocket Bubble Blaster... A couple of things I tell you. 1) See the RC drift fence data for 2 August -- it is true. I caught both a common kingsnake and a long nosed snake. The 2nd I thought was Caly Mountain at first, but then I saw the picture of Longnose. Yikes! Neither had been eating mice (big ones anyway) because I actually got them out of the traps (brave me) and checked their bellies for bulges. Both were about a foot or so long and the kingsnake was 3/4" thick and the Longnosed ~5/8" thick. Pretty neat, actually... Also, I saw something else pretty neat while I was at drinking after setting traps -- A Pygmy out near station 4,150 (The steep station down in the ditch w/ a rope now). It was consuming a woodrat that was as big if not bigger than itself. I went back to search for leftovers but couldn't find any. Let's see, what else? I found the cycrometer and it is in its case.
