I set all traps on MC from 1400 to 1600hrs, and RC traps from 1615 to 1700hrs. I forgot to take the new animals I'd this am to grid RC, so I had to go back to the lab to get them. They were released in good shape around 1715hrs. Today was mostly clear and sunny, temp in low 50's. 2145hr - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, no moon, and cool (low 40's). Finished checking all traps but row B by 2210hrs and headed towards MC grid. I only checked the top 2 rows (9,10,11) on MC. Good results for P. californicus. Headed home for sleep at 2320hrs. Jan 12 0730hr - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, and cold. There is a heavy frost this am. I finished checking traps on MC around 0900hrs. Caught 2 new immature P. californicus which were bordering on torpor, so I kept them in my breast pockets back to the lab. Since I was running late, I didn't pickup traps on grid RC. Finished by 1040 hrs and returned to lab to bleed animals & stuff P. boylii mortality. Discovered that one of the immature P. californicus returned to lab was P. boylii (#4430).
