June 29 Finished checking traps by 0930h & headed home. Ellie went out this am at 0545 to check traps. I joined her on RC at 0700. It's clear, low 50s this am. We finished checking traps by 0400 and returned to the lab to check on the captive animals (so data sheets - the other female gave birth!) Summary of results on RC: P. californicus 10 captures 29 (om) 10 capt 10 P. boylii 13 captures 23 4 (Zoon) 28 N. fusipes 0 " 11 " (Zoon) 13 Perognathus 0 " 1 " 1 TOTAL 31 captures 45 1 (4 hum) 58 I packed up and headed off to Berkeley around noon. Ellie is taking over for the next few days. July 10 Arrived back this afternoon around 1730h. Nice, productive break in Berkeley. Summer has definitely arrived at Hastings! All of the grass fields are brown and much of the shrubbery is loosing leaves. Upper 90's and clear - I joined Ellie on grid MC to help finish setting all grid traps. Finished & set RC drift fence traps around 1830h. We won't be checking traps this PM, just early AM July 11 0545h - out checking traps on MC.
