Released them at their capture sites between 1130-1200h (all in good condition). Checked on the captive animals and F #1135 finally gave birth to 2 pups (see notes on animals). Finished all of this by 1300h--quite the am. I reset MC drift fence traps around 1130 and Grid RC from 17-1800h. I set traps a bit early today to give time to visit Rancho Palo Escrito with M.Reynolds -- nice! Did not check traps tonight - I want to see animals early to see poison (hopefully) June 28. 0420h - out checking traps on RC. It's clear, calm, moon has set, mild 40s. Finished checking traps on RC by 0645h and moved on to check MC drift fence traps. Finished checking MC drift fence traps and returned (after breakfast) to the lab to bleed a new animal from RC drift fence. Summary of results on Grid RC this am: P.californicus : 15 captures P.beylie : 21 " (2 new) N.fuscipes : 8 " (new) M.auratus : 2 " TOTAL: 46 captures (3 new). Returned to the lab animals. Released the new animal at its capture site by 1000h and returned to check on the captive animals. Today was sunny, warm (upper 80's), and breezy. Ellie got back from Oregon today. At 1130h we went up to Grid WR to determine when to put a min/max thermometer. At 1 foot we began resetting Grid WR. We stopped at the hygrothermograph and tested out the sling psychrometer. 30 secs seems accurate for swing time (we tested it against 60 secs with same results). We also set 4 Nestoma national traps at stations 6,18; 9,17; 5,10; and 5,2. Reset MC drift fence traps from 1830 to 1900h.
