It was interesting how much subcutaneous & abdominal cavity fat was present in him (Cat # 88). I have seen lab animals with less. Perhaps food is superabundant currently (?) Today was warm (low 90s), clear, and breezy. Spent the afternoon getting organized..... Reset RC traps from 1715 to 1900hrs - cut away vegetation from the trails as I set traps. Also, squirrels have moved in along row B and they rolled several traps down the hill. Reset MC drift fence traps from 1910 to 1930h. 2245h - out checking traps on RC. It's clear, low 60s, moon 3/4 full and overhead - very bright! Finished by 2355's headed home. June 27 0600h - out checking traps on MC drift fences. It's clear, calm, 60°. Started checking traps on RC by 0640h and finished by 0915h. What a morning!! Caught a total of 5 new P.californicus , plus caught #1142 with a new bowl like in the trap!
