Started checking traps on RC drift fences by 0615h. It's foggy, low 50s this am. Finished by 0840h. Summary of results on MC. See Ellie's Journal for action in my absence -- --- June 25 Arrived back today at 15thrs. The mammal meetings were informative and the break was nice! Ellie left yesterday, so the drift fence traps were left closed blocking passageways. I loaded up the truck with traps, etc., and checked on the captive animals - both females are pregnant! (See notes on individual animals). I set (trapped hygrograph paper) traps on RC and RC drift fences from 1045 to 1830hrs. The amount of new growth of blackberry, clover, and poison oak across our trails is impressive - need to cut it back tomorrow. Set MC drift fence traps, finishing by 1900h. The moon is >1/2 full and overhead (~120'clock) when the sun set around 2030h. June 26 0600h - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, low 50s. Started checking traps on RC by 0630h - finished around 0930h and returned to lab with 3 new animals to bleed and 1 mortality to prepare. Released the new animals around noon (all in good shape) at their capture sites. Checked on the lab animals on my way home for lunch.
