June 12 (cont)
Spent the afternoon on paperwork and house cleaning...
Today was warm (upper 80's) and breezy. I reset RC drift fence traps from 18-1830h, reset the traps in the barn and added 21 more for a total of 56 traps,
and finished by resetting MC drift fence traps from
19-1920h. No traps to check tonight.
June 13. 0450h - out checking traps on MC drift fences. It's clear, calm, low 80's.
Caught the escaped female in the lower barn. Returned her to the enclosure
and packed up all the traps. Finished checking RC drift fence traps
by 0800h. Went into town this am to get film developed.
This afternoon Ellie and I finally began making habitat measurements
on MC. We took 3 hrs to complete 20 stations, rows 5's/e. cli

this chore. The ferns are dying and the leaves on the bridleways turning
yellow. This seems to have happened quickly - first signs of summer dwindled.
Today was clear and hot (low 90's). We set out traps on
MC after finishing habitat work, from 1700 to 1800h. We reset
RC drift fence traps from 1815 to 1830h.
2240h - out checking traps on grid MC. It's clear, warm (low 90), and no
moon (tomorrow tonight is new moon). Finished by 2345h and headed home.
June 14 0400h - out checking traps on 12C drift fences this am (first). It's clear, calm,
low 60s (still warmish). Returned to check traps on MC around 0700h and
finished checking all traps by 0840h.
