We also added 6 Neotoma trap boxes across the grid. Reset RC&MC drift fence traps from 1915 to 1920ths. CB also reset the traps beneath the bunkhouse with peanut butter. 2300h - went checking traps below bunkhouse. It's clear, low 50s, no moon. New 1331. Ø Mature (early), TW. 3leg. 1297 Ø Early mature, TW. 35g. *This animal was caught June 8 on the drift fence! See species acct. June 10 Blood - out checking traps below bunkhouse. It's mostly clear (some scattered high clouds), upper 40s. The moon (<½) is overhead. New 1332 Ø Mature, TW. 37g. Green powder visible in ears. KEPT FOR Captority Started checking traps on WR around 0730h and finished by 0430. Bled 2 new P.californicus at truck and released them around 1000h. Returned to lab to spin blood. Summary of results on WR: P.californicus - 7capt(live) P. truei - 15" (4mm) P. boylii - 3" (2mm) Perognathus - 2" N. fascipes - 10" (live) TOTAL - 37 (8mm) The Neotoma traps seemed to make a difference, although there were still a lot of traps turned. Ellie took off this afternoon for his weekend and I worked on paperwork and laundry. Today was clear, breezy, mid 60s. I reset traps on WR from 1030 to 1730h and took a look one of the National traps out of each Neotoma box and set it at a different station (giving 12 stations with woodrat traps). Reset RC&MC drift fence traps from 1745 to 1630h.
