It's overcast and very wet - it probably drizzled most of the evening. Karen & Marco said it rained hard for a while during the evening (I slept through it). It started raining lightly while we were checking traps. We finished checking RC by 0800h & proceeded to check MC, picking up or cleaning traps as we went. We finished around 0915h, about the time it stopped raining ---- returned to the lab to bleed 5 new P.californicus from RC (2 from last night) and set up 5. total mortalities from this run. Summary of results on MC: P.californicus 21(pm) 22(AM) #ind 3 (0 8 P.boylii 4 (0 (new) 8 D.truei 5 7 9 N.fuscipes 1 2 2 Perognathus 0 1 1 TOTAL 13 22 28 Marco returned all the new P.californicus to the capture sites around 1230h. It remained cloudy and cool all day, but no rain. From 1715 to 1915h we reset all traps on GRID RC and RC drift fences. Marco worked on radio-locations. We reset MC drift fence traps around 1830h. 2230h - Marco & Ian out checking traps on RC. It's cloudy and raining not much lately thus far - it's been raining since 2145h which may have an effect. We got radio-locations on all animals, finishing about midnight. April 23 0645h - out checking traps on MC drift fences. It's cloudy, wet, upper 40's. It stayed dry but cloudy this am. We finished checking traps around 0900 and bled a new animal (#1230) at the truck, releasing it before we headed to the lab to set up 6. total mortalities from this run.
