Not many animals, but did remove collar from ♀ 020. Finished by 2345h. April 10 0700h - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, low 50's! Maybe the heat is finally over. Caught ♀ 0100 with a sperm plug (see appxct!). Returned to lab with a new Pe (#1531) to collect tissues around 0900h. Summary of results on MC: P.californicus P.boylei P.truei Perognathus 9(PM) 3 1 3 1 TOTAL 8 10 (AM) 6 11 (new) 2 3 22 (new) # ind 7 11 3 3 24 total. Jeff David into Monterey late this am to catch his plane back to Madison. It was wonderful to have him out and I look forward to future collaborations. Returned to Hastings around 1300h and returned Pe #1531 to its capture point in good condition. Today was considerably cooler, upper 50's - finally! From 14-1800h I set RC drift fences and grid traps to try as catch all the radio-collared mice to remove their collars Also got radio-location on all mice (see appxct). Reset all MC grid and drift fence traps by 1930. I also reset all min/max thermometers on all grids - start recording min/max tomorrow. 2200h out checking traps on MC. It's clear, calm, mid-50's Moon is 1/4 full in western sky. Again, not many animals. Proceeded to check grid RC traps.
