Zubieiro 1984 37- Lourdes Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif April 1 (cont.) beginning at 0450h (see above). Went back and checked all grid WR2 traps from 0550 to 0730h. Checked RC drift fence traps from 0730-0830h, and finished up on MC drift fences by 0900h. Returned to lab to bleed new PC (1523) from MC drift fence. Summary of results on WR2: P. californicus - 10 captured P. tenui - 20 (2 new) W. foreipes - 15 " P. borfii - 2 " Perognathus - 5" (live) TOTAL 52 captured (3 live) Returned the new PC to its capture point in good shape by 1800h. Today was cooler than previous days, with some clouds in the afternoon. Reset WR traps from 1530-1630h, and RC and MC drift fence traps by 1730h. Cristina Ortega and his family arrived tonight; they'll be staying until tomorrow. Good company! 2115h - out checking traps on WR2 w/ Cristian. It's partially overcast, low 50s. Note that I didn't note Vespera caught and left a trap overnight - will record all maƱana. Finished by 2230h. April 2 Time changed to Daylight Savings Time overnight, so all further times are PST-DST. 0700h-out checking traps on MC drift fence. Mostly clear, low 50s. Started checking RC drift fences by 0740h. Lot of mice on drift fences - still need to add more traps. Started checking traps on WR2 by 0840h and finished by 1800h. Picked up all rolling Sherman traps, but left the Vespera traps (unbaited) in place on the grid (total 8 boxes, 10 traps). Messed around with the Ortegaz the rest of the am. They left shortly after lunch.
