Let d checked traps, I either picked up or opened up all traps. Left drift fence passageways open. Finished checking all RC traps by 0800h and proceeded to check MC traps. Summary of results on RC: P.californicus: 9 captures P.boylii : 23 " N.husipes . 10 " Perognathus . 2 " TOTAL : 44 " Note strange movements by P.c.'s 0130 and 1155; almost as if they switched positions. Cleaned up the cabin and checked on the captive mice before heading back to Berkeley about 1100h. March 28 Arrived back down at Hastings around 1000h - Skies an overcast, looks like rain possible, low 70's. If it is possible, looks like vegetation is even greener than last week. The grasses have definitely grown since last week - canyon bottoms have an especially lush look. It did rain the past weekend. Now flowers blooming. Jan 17-1830h I set out and trited all traps on GRID WR. Put out 6 wooden trap-boxes (2 traps/box) across the grid. Covered all traps with boards and put paper-tubes for nesting in some (~4?). Reset MC drift fence traps by 1900h (finished mid a.m.) - Drizzled (low clouds) this AM. March 29 0600h-out checking traps on MC. Clear, upper 40's, wet! Moons 42 full and at 12 o'clock in sky. Headed to GRID WR around 0645h. Alot of animals! Caught 5 new P.c. this am which I returned to lab to collect tissues. Finished checking all traps by 0900.
