Returned to MC around 0830h to pick up all of the folding Sherman traps. Summary of results on MC - P.californicus 11 captures P.boylei 11 " P.huei 6 " Peromyscus 2 " TOTAL 30 Captures (disused) Today was sunny and gorgeous. I did think it rained hard, but GRID MC is amazingly green. The Buckeyes, snowberry, wild rose, grasses, and forbs are all fully leafed out. Many flowers start blooming. In contrast, GRID RC appears to lag behind about 2 weeks. The buckeyes are just leaving out, as are the Salix, snowberry, and other shrubs. The grasses and forbs are green, and some flowers are blooming. Set and baited all traps on GRID RC from 1530-1700h, and MC drift fence traps from [illegible] by 1730h. I'll be going out tonight and tomorrow night before starting dyadic encounters- 215h - out checking traps in RC. Some scattered clouds, mid 40's, moon is 5/6 full and overhead - but got good results tonight considering the moon. Checked to north end of west drift fence before heading back - no captures. Finished by 2240h. March 18 Out - out checking traps on MC. It's partly cloudy, low 40's Only one mouse on MC drift fences. Started checking traps on RC by 0640h. Lots of Neotoma ...
