Added 6 more traps to RC west fence - total 30 traps. It was drizzling by the time finished. March 2 0620h-out checking traps on WC. It's overcast, raining off and on. Started checking RC drift fences by 0700h - lot of animals! Need to add more traps. Started checking traps on WR by 0815h. Finally caught P. californicus this am, caught 4 new Ps. Finished by 1030h and returned to lab to collect tissues from new Ps and prepare for mortality Summary of results on WC - P. californicus - 13 (4 new) P. huei - 24 (1 new) N fuscos - 15 P boylii - 4 (2 new) Perognathus - 4 Sorex - 2 (2 mortalities) (0#) 2! Bless morning.... Stayed overcast and windy all day. Returned to GRID WR and reset WR traps from 1515-1700h. Released all new Ps from this am. Took a long time to reset because I had to clean out many of the traps. Reset RC & MC traps by 1915h. Added 4 more Shermanos to RC west fence (34 traps total) and 4 to RC east fence (26 traps total). Drizzled some while I was setting traps, but rained hard this evening March 3 0620h-out checking traps on WC, partly cloudy, and 30s. Snow on Chair's ridge, the humd hills, and the ridges east of Hastings. Started checking traps on RC by 070h, and GRID WR by 0750h. Not quite as many mice as yesterday, but still alot. Finished checking traps by 094h and begun to pick up all traps. Needed back to the lab by 1130
